Wynn’s 4th Annual Winter Market starts Saturday, December 5th!

The official kick-off for the winter market is always the first Saturday in December, and the market continues through the last Saturday in March. For everyone who is new to our market, we are located on S. Highway 71, also called S. School Street, diagonally across from City Lumber at the old Greyhound bus depot.

You must subscribe to receive weekly email produce lists from December 1 through March 31. Write to us at wynnstomatoranch@pgtc.com to subscribe to the produce lists.

Our hours are 9:00am until noon.

Our market is traditional in that you can buy directly from the tables on a given day, however the constraints of winter limit many of us who “grow” products during these darker, shorter days. The re-growth time is severely inhibited.

Consequently, we ask that you place an order for what you would like by the ordering deadline. We harvest according to this and bring what is ordered. Simply reply to our produce email with your wish list and arrive during business hours to pick up your local farm fresh products. Though small, this is very important! With only one market a week, any leftover orders go to waste. This hurts customers who may have been turned down to fill another order and it also hurts the farmer. If you haven’t arrived or made arrangements to arrive at the very end of market, we will put leftover products on the table to sell at 11:30am.

Dwight and I began the winter market idea to make farming a viable year round proposition. It isn’t just yet; but it’s better! Then the idea of building a cooperative of people like us developed from there. Our goal then is two-fold: 1) farmers have a place to sell their product all winter and 2) they keep all of their profits. We receive no commission on their hard work.

The first two years of this venture were spent outside during the entire winter (cold, rain, snow, ice, wind…) Last year, we teamed up with David Lewis, the executive chef of Brick House Kitchen. We are allowed to be inside to deliver our products. For this, we are mighty grateful. Please visit David any Wednesday through Saturday from 11:00am – 2:00pm for a simply perfect lunch. He is just next door…in the “Brick House”!

As many of you know, we will be sharing our space with the firefighters association this winter. We are asked to respect their belongings and leave a clean area once we have concluded our business.
